I hope you’ll accept this as a constructive comment–I don’t intend to criticize or complain about the Legion or the Post or staff or any of the officers or leaders, in any way!
My issue: Although my husband is a longtime Legion member, we are not very often able to participate in Legion/Post events, projects, fund-raisers, or activities. I understand it’s mostly due to our personal family, church, or other organization responsibilities, or previous commitments. But today I thought I might suggest another possibility.
I believe the Legion newsletters and calendars that we receive (mostly email I guess) include many events we might enjoy or find important or interesting. But the emails include too much other information for us to read quickly and catch the details. I’m sure we often fail to note the dates and details right away, and then we forget to follow up before the event is over.
Today I noticed that the December email included much information on events LONG PAST happening–i.e. today Nov. 24 includes details about Fathers’ Day, (June event), and “October Craft Sale” and “Halloween” event.
I think that a brief paragraph summarizing past events may be interesting (or I’d love to read of any/all successful fundraisers), but we probably won’t take time to read it all.
We especially need to read of ALL the future events, with details of dates, times, prices –even including events weeks or months ahead–so that we could make notes and plans to “save the date,” on our family calendar.
Just an idea for your communication person(s). We truly would like to participate in more of your events and projects.
Thanks for listening. Bev Laseke
Please refer to the calendar for future events as well as FaceBook. Things are always subject to change, and we make most announcements of changes, after the Newsletter is sent, on FaceBook.
